Keep Learning

We would all do well to develop the habit of continual learning about the environment, social issues and solutions.

Some great ways to continue learning include being involved in community groups, books, newsletters, podcasts, documentaries, TED talks, talks and lectures, online / face to face courses.

Check out some of blog posts under the ‘Keep Learning’ category for more ideas:

Speak Up

Be one of the millions of people who are speaking up to protect our environment and speaking out against social injustices.

Sign petitions, write letters, post, tweet and comment on the internet.  Raise issues in your workplace, discuss your concerns with your friends. There are many ways to speak up and add your voice to the growing movement of people insisting on sustainable and fair solutions. Politicians and governments do sometimes listen when enough people speak up.

Get Connected

We can all make a difference taking action on our own but to achieve the global shift towards a human presence that is socially just and environmentally sustainable we need to connect with other people and groups as well the things we are striving to protect: our world and and all species who live on it – we can only flourish if they also flourish.

Find a local group caring for the environment, helping others or campaigning for justice.  Notice the stars, the moon, the clouds. Connect on-line through discussion groups, social media and on-line communities.  Visit a park, go for a walk, find a river, creek or ocean to enjoy.

Take Action

Taking action creates energy and opportunities where anything becomes possible.

The best actions are every day actions – those habits, consumer decisions and  lifestyle choices that underpin our values and communicate to others what we stand for.  These are the actions that are the bedrock of social change.

If you are not sure what action to take, browse the Take Action category of our Blog for suggestions.

Awesome tips for taking action

“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn’t be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person.”
― Richard Buckminster Fuller
